Bassist Cin Khan Pum and Band Members to Tour in USA
29 April 2011: Pu Cin Khan Pum and other band members of ‘Plus Three’ are to entertain fans in the US during their 2-month tour with a group of famous singers from Burma starting from early next month.
The much-awaited event, organised by Burmese Christian Church, will feature Burmese singers including Shin Phone, He Lay, Alex, Si Thu Lwin and Saung Oo Hlaing in a series of gigs to be held in five cities of US States including New York, California, Florida, North Carolina and Massachusetts.
Sources said that it will be the first time for the Chin bassist to arrive in the US as he was not able to tour with his former band Emperor in the past.
Pu Cin Khan Pum, aka Ko Bo Kyin, of Sizang tribe from Chin State, was a former bassist of Burma’s famous music band Emperor formed in the 1980s with other five members, Zaw Win Htut, Zaw Myo Htut, Wai Tun, Maung Maung Lwin and John O’Hara.
In November 2009 after leaving the band, he was seen attending a celebration marking the 25th anniversary of Emperor in Rangoon.
The singers, with Plus Three band members including Okka Oo Tha, Cin Khan Pum, Soe Thiha and Aung Thu, are expected to arrive in the US on 4 May and scheduled to stay in Japan for seven days on their way back to Burma.
