Split Win Predicted in Mindat Township

7 November 2010: With only a few minutes left until polls close at 4 p.m., voters are predicting a split win between three main parties: the National Unity Party (NUP), the Chin National Party (CNP) and the Chin Progressive Party (CPP).

The CNP candidate Tam Law Ki is expected to win the State Legislative seat from Mindat constituency (1), while U Shin Tun of the CPP is predicted to grab the People’s Parliament (Pyithu Hluttaw) seat. NUP candidate Phe Ling Maung is believed to win the National Parliament (Amyotha Hluttaw) seat, according to voters interviewed by Chinland Guardian.

According to the Election law, votes will be counted at each polling station immediately after the polls are closed. The final results will be announced by the respective District Election Commission.
