Prayer of Thanks for Chin Doctor Who Survived Haiti Earthquake

30 January 2010 (Chinland Guardian): The mother of a Chin doctor who survived the recent earthquake in Haiti made a thanksgiving prayer at Tedim Baptist Church in Yangon, former capital of Burma.

A bulletin of Tedim Baptist Church said Pi Man Kaih Niang offered thanks to God at the church on behalf of his younger son, Dr. Kam Suan Mung, for his survival, according to Zolandtimes.

Dr. Kam Suan Mung, a younger son of the late Colonel Dal Za Kam and Pi Man Kaih Niang, works for WHO (World Health Organisation) in Haiti while the Caribbean country was hit by a powerful earthquake that claimed thousands of lives earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Dr. Levi Sap Nei Thang, who was in earthquake-hit Haiti for helping the victims, requested a special prayer for herself and the people in Haiti. A message in her facebook yesterday said: “Hello friends, please say some prayers for me. I am too tired in Haiti. Things are terrible here.”

In recent weeks, messages urging the Chin people to contribute towards helping the earthquake-hit victims have been circulated in the Chin email groups, with positive responses.
