Photos of Suu Kyi’s Birthday Celebration at KIO Headquarters
20 June 2011: The 66th birthday of Burma’s democracy icon and Nobel Peace laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was yesterday celebrated at the headquarters of the Kachin Independence Organisation (KIO) in Laiza, Kachin State.
Amid the ongoing armed conflict between the Burma Army soldiers and the Kachin Independence Army, an armed wing of KIO, the prayer ceremony was attended by KIO Officers, Kachin Women Group, democratic activists and local churches.
