Photos of Chin Church Destroyed in Nu Poe Refugee Camp

17 March 2011: A Christian Church used by Chin refugees stranded in Nu Poe Refugee Camp on the Thai-Burma border has been destroyed after a big tree fell over in heavy wind and rain around 3am local time yesterday.

A member of Chin National Association (CNA) said: “The building was the center not only for holding worship services but also for other activities including celebrations and meetings. It was used as the meeting place for Chin refugees in the Nu Poe Camp.”

The Chin refugee also described that the weather has been strangely windy, rainy and bad for a few days.

It is reported that no one was hurt in the building destruction.
