9 July 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military carried out multiple airstrikes in eastern parts of Mindat township, Chin State, on 9 July, according to local sources.
Initial local sources reported that a fighter jet from Tada-U Air Base conducted two bombing runs at approximately 11:08 am and 11:12 am, targeting a location east of Mindat township.
The same aircraft reportedly returned and carried out two additional bombing runs at around 12:08 pm and 12:22 pm, dropping a total of four bombs.
Between 1:00 pm and 2:10 pm, a Y-12 bomber aircraft from Tada-U Air Base conducted more than 10 bombing runs over areas east of Mindat, dropping more than 40 bombs in clusters of two, three, and five.
Information on casualties and damage was not immediately available. Local sources said damage assessments were ongoing. – Reporting by Ben
