7 July 2026 — Two soldiers from the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military were reportedly injured during a clash with local resistance fighters in Gangaw township, Magway Region, according to the Black Dragon Force.

The resistance group said the incident occurred at around 10:00 pm on 6 July, when approximately 10 soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 50 were conducting a nighttime patrol near West Gangaw, west of the We Love Gangaw Bridge over the Myittha River.

According to a spokesperson for the Black Dragon Force, the group received advance information about the patrol and prepared an ambush. The spokesperson said the soldiers opened fire after detecting the resistance fighters, triggering an exchange of gunfire that lasted about 15 minutes.

The Black Dragon Force claimed that two SSPC soldiers were wounded and later taken to Gangaw Public Hospital for treatment. The group also said none of its members was injured and that its fighters withdrew safely after the engagement.
