22 May 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out multiple airstrikes in Mindat town, Chin State today, according to local sources.
Local reports indicated that two jet fighters took off from Magway Airbase and conducted four separate bombing runs on targets within Mindat town at around 2:00 pm today.
Details regarding damage and possible casualties have not yet been independently verified.
In a separate earlier incident, on 20 May at approximately 4:45 pm, a fighter jet from Tada-U Airbase reportedly carried out two bombing runs on Mindat town, dropping a total of four bombs on Seikhei Ward.
Local sources stated that a school in the area was completely destroyed in the attack.
The latest airstrikes, along with ongoing military movements in the area, have raised growing security concerns among local residents.
Communities are reportedly being urged to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures in anticipation of possible further air operations and related military activity. – Reporting by Ben
