6 May 2026 – The Chinland Defence Force–Lautu (CDF-Lautu) organized an event, marking the fifth anniversary of its formation on 5 May 2026 at Camp 21 in the Lautu area of Chin State.

The event honored the group’s journey in the anti-military resistance, noting that 15 CDF-Lautu members have been killed in action over the past five years, according to an official statement.

The commemoration brought together local officials, CDF-Lautu officers, administrative personnel, youth representatives, and the families of the fallen fighters.

The anniversary highlights the ongoing effort by resistance groups to establish governance in the region.

Lautu leaders have created a local people’s administrative body to oversee governance and deliver public services in the Lautu region, which spans parts of Matupi, Hakha, and Thantlang townships.

The ceremony takes place amidst sustained and heavy conflict across Chin State. Reports indicate an escalation in military activity by the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), including numerous airstrikes in townships such as Saw, Tedim, and Mindat. – Reporting by Ben
