30 April 2026 — TheState Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out multiple airstrikes between Saw township in Magway Region, including the Kyaukhtu area, and Mindat township in Chin State on 30 April, according to local sources.

Initial reports from Yaw Alinn Tan indicated that a separate wave of coordinated airstrikes targeted a location along the Mindat–Kyaukhtu border at around 12:00 pm.

The operation involved five fighter jets from Tada-U Air Base and from Magway Air Base, which reportedly dropped bombs more than 10 times on the same area.

At approximately 1:00 pm, an E-20 transport aircraft conducted around eight supply drops of rations and ammunition at Artillery Battalion 368 based in Kyaukhtu.

During the airstrike operations, artillery units were also reported to have fired heavy weapons in support.

Details regarding casualties and damage remain unconfirmed, as information is still being independently verified.Residents in the Yaw region and southern Chin State have been urged to remain on high alert and take precautionary measures due to the ongoing risk of further air and artillery attacks. – Reporting by Ben
