23 April 2026 – At least 15 personnel from the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) were killed in a targeted drone strike carried out by Chin Brotherhood (CB) forces near Var Bridge in Falam township, Chin State.

The attack utilized FPV (First-Person View) drones against an SSPC position. Among the deceased was a soldier identified as “Ko Zay,” who had recently posted social media content boasting of his unit’s plans to seize Var bridge and celebrate victory in Falam town.

This clash occurs amid a significant military offensive by the SSPC to recapture Falam town and the strategic Surbung Airport. The offensive has included aerial campaigns and ground advancements that have resulted in the destruction of civilian homes in nearby villages.

The region continues to face ongoing clashes and a complex political landscape as resistance forces and the military struggle for control over key infrastructure and administrative centers. – Reporting by Daniel
