13 December 2025 — The Myanmar State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out another airstrike on Matupi township in Chin State. The attack targeted the 9-mile area along the Matupi–Paletwa road.

The airstrike took place at around 4:50 pm. A jet fighter dropped at least five bombs, including 500-pound bombs, on the area. The aircraft circled several times before releasing the bombs.

Due to fears of further airstrikes, residents have not been able to reach the affected locations. Information on damage and casualties remains unconfirmed.

The attack followed multiple airstrikes a day earlier. On the morning of 12 December, the Myanmar military bombed the former Infantry Battalion 304 base three times and carried out one strike on Infantry Battalion 140. Later that day, the outskirts of Matupi town were bombed at least five more times, bringing the total number of airstrikes in a single day to nine.

The renewed attacks come amid increased aerial activity across Chin State. In recent months, the Myanmar military has repeatedly bombed Matupi township, raising serious security concerns among local communities.

As of reporting time, the Chin Defence Force–Matupi (CDF-Matupi), which controls the town, has not issued an official statement on the latest airstrikes. — Reporting by Ben
