17 November 2025 — Intense fighting erupted in Falam township, Chin State, as a joint force of the Chin National Defence Force (CNDF) and the Chin National Army (CNA) engaged soldiers of the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC).
The clashes, which occurred in two locations between 8:30am and 10:30 am today, resulted in significant losses for the SSPC military forces, according to local sources.
It is reported that at least 10 SSPC soldiers were killed and the joint Chin forces successfully seized a number of weapons and ammunition.
The Chin revolutionary forces ambushed and attacked SSPC soldiers advancing towards Falam town.
This follows a clash on the previous day, 16 November, where the joint forces also engaged the SSPC, inflicting casualties and seizing weapons. The SSPC military has reportedly suffered heavy losses over the two days of fighting.
In response to the casualties, local media and residents report that the SSPC forces conducted airstrikes in the Falam area this afternoon, 17 November. – Reporting by Daniel
