Over 80 close contacts with Hakha COVID-19 patient quarantined
The government of Chin State took immediate action, keeping 85 individuals in quarantine who were suspected of having close contacts with the Hakha COVID-19 patient.
U Myint Oo, the head of the Hakha Township General Administration Department, said that 51 suspects believed to have had contacts with the current patient were being kept in quarantine facilities of the Hakha University.
He said that the numbers included 22 Tiphul villagers and others who were on the same bus and had direct contacts with the patient.
In Thantlang, the Township General Administration Department said that 34 suspects who shared the bus with the patient from Kalay and their family members were quarantined, according to The Hakha Post.
Salai Kep Chin Thang, a member of the Thantlang Township COVID19 Committee, told the Hakha Post that they had been kept away at Na Ta La school, one of the quarantine facilities arranged in Thantlang Town.
They will be placed in quarantine for 21 days.
The 18-year-old Chin female who had returned from China via Shan State in late March tested positive of coronavirus on 29 April 2020.#
