27 July 2026 – A drone bombing attack carried out by Myanmar military forces advancing from the Laungshae area killed two civilians, including a three-year-old child, and seriously injured another civilian in Saw township, Magway Region on 26 July.
According to initial reports, the military column advancing from Laungshae carried out a drone bombing attack on Saik Khin village, locally known as Sait Khin village, located east of Thi Kone village in Saw township at around 2:00 pm.
The drone-dropped explosives landed and detonated inside the village, killing a three-year-old boy and a middle-aged man at the scene. Another civilian, a man, sustained severe injuries to his right leg.
The Laungshae-based military column resumed its advance toward Saw town on 24 July. As of 26 July, the column had not yet entered Saw town and was believed to be temporarily positioned at an undisclosed location along its route. – Reporting by Ben
