11 July 2026 – The Kuki Women Organization for Human Rights (KWOHR) has delivered a second round of humanitarian assistance to civilians displaced by fighting along the Kalay-Tamu Road in Sagaing Region, who have fled to the India-Myanmar border, according to a statement released on 10 July.

The aid was distributed to displaced people sheltering at three camps along the border and included basic food supplies such as cooking oil, salt, beans, textured vegetable protein, canned fish, and vermicelli, as well as hygiene and personal care items including toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, towels, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products.

According to KWOHR, the assistance was provided as emergency humanitarian relief for civilians displaced by escalating clashes in Tamu District, Sagaing Region.

The organization said intensified fighting between State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military and resistance forces along the Kalay-Tamu Road, including SSPC military offensives and airstrikes, has forced residents of nearby villages to flee across the border into India.

Reports added that the SSPC military has been attempting to regain control of the strategically important Kalay-Tamu trade route as part of its ongoing operations, triggering continued displacement in the area. – Reporting by Daniel
