President Thein Sein to attend Chin National Day event

11 February 2015 — Thein Sein, president of Burma, is expected to arrive in Hakha, Chin State on 19 February, a source from the State government said.

He is attending the event planned on a large scale to mark the 67th anniversary celebrations of Chin National Day on 20 February.

The 69-year-old former military commander will be spending two nights in the capital during his second visit to Chin State.

He might be accompanied by Union ministers including Dr. Than Aung, Ministry of Health; and Khin Maung Soe, Ministry of Electric Power.

The State government decided at their meeting early last month to invite to the celebrations President Thein Sein, chief ministers of all states and regions and other Union ministers.#
