Body of Raped Chin Girl Found in Rakhine State

25 April 2012: The body of a 14-year-old Chin teenage girl, who went missing while collecting firewood, was found in the jungle near the paddy field in Kyaukmawgyi village, Myebone Township of Rakhine State last month.

The victim named Ni Lar Win, daughter of U Kyaw Mya and Daw Mya Hla Khine, was reportedly raped and murdered in the morning of 22 March 2012, according to the Chin World Media.

Her parents were quoted as saying by the Chin World Media that their daughter did not return home before breakfast and they started searching in the nearby jungle.

The body of a middle school student was recovered in the afternoon, dumped with marks of cuts by knife on her neck and arms, according to the Chin parents.

Up to this date, it still remains unknown as to how it happened and who committed murder.

It is claimed that the case has been reported to Myebon Township Police Force.
