Matriculation Exam Results Increase In Chin State
20 June 2010: The number of high school students passing the matriculation examination has grown by 4% in Chin State in 2010 compared to the results last year, according to the Chinland Post.
Out of 8,706 students sitting for the exam this year, a total of 1,425 got through with only one student from Falam, Junior Ngun Cin Sang, gaining distinctions in all the subjects.
With the 10th Standard results announced on 13 June 2010, the Ministry of Education was quoted as saying that the overall exam results were on the increase in the whole country but with fewer students getting distinctions.
The Chinland Post, published monthly in Hakha-Chin dialect, revealed that Chin State had its growth in the number of students both passing the exam and gaining distinctions.
In total, 17 percent of the students in the whole Chin State passed the 10th Standard, with 22 in Cikha township, 207 in Falam, 283 in Hakha, 74 Kanpetlet, 9 in Lailenpi, 125 in Matupi, 151 in Mindat, 104 in Paletwa, 22 in Rezua, 12 in Rihkhuadar, 234 in Tedim, 122 in Thantlang, 24 in Thokhlan and 36 in Tonzang.
