14 July 2026 — Three State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) troops were killed after a military column struck a landmine near Ka Ka (Kan Hla) village in Laung Shet, Saw township, Magway Region.
Initial reports indicate that the SSPC military column, comprising around 100 troops, was advancing between Taungbo Gyi and Laung Shet villages on the afternoon of 14 July when it was hit by a landmine.
Local sources said three junta soldiers were killed in the blast.
Following the attack, junta troops entered Ka Ka (Kan Hla) village and set it on fire. The extent of the damage to homes and property was not immediately known and remains under assessment.
The reported casualties and the burning of the village could not be independently verified. – Reporting by Ben
