7 July 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military airlifted food supplies and ammunition to Artillery Battalion 368 in Kyaukhtu, Saw township, Magway Region, on 6 July, as military operations in southern parts of Chin State continued.

Local sources reported that a Y-8 military transport aircraft from Meiktila Air Base flew over the artillery base between 4:30 pm and 5:11 pm, dropping 65 parachute bundles containing rations, ammunition, and other military supplies.

The reported resupply comes as SSPC forces continue an offensive toward Mindat and Kanpetlet townships in Chin State. According to local sources, a military column numbering in the thousands has been operating from Kyaukhtu and surrounding villages since 16 May, using the area as a staging ground for operations into southern Chin State.

Local sources also reported that more than 200 troops from a unit under the 99th Light Infantry Division, based in Meiktila, remain deployed in Ta Pyin village, while another unit of around 100 soldiers continues to occupy Kan Chaung village.

Residents said SSPC troops have also been stationed in civilian homes in several nearby villages, including Kan Gyi, Taung Htet, and Ye Shin.
