9 May 2026 – A truck carrying a large cache of weapons and ammunition for the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military forces exploded today in Lailung Ward, Tedim town.

The Forland truck caught fire while transporting military supplies through Tedim, resulting in a blast that detonated all explosive ordnance on board, including bullets and artillery shells, completely destroying the vehicle.

Local residents described the explosion as ‘extremely loud.’ The extent of casualties or injuries among SSPC personnel remains unconfirmed.

This incident occurs amid escalating military operations by SSPC forces across Chin State. The instability continues to impact the Tedim area, which has seen drone strikes reportedly kill ten people, and contribute to the displacement of thousands of civilians fleeing Tedim and Falam areas. – Reporting by Daniel
