22 April 2026 – A member of the Maraland Territorial Council (MTC) and Maraland Defence Force (MDF) died yesterday, due to a sudden health complication while preparing for the operation to seize Tedim town in Chin State.
The fighter became ill before the offensive began, and his condition rapidly worsened en route to the hospital in Aizawl, Mizoram State, India, where he passed away before receiving treatment.
Sources close to the group confirmed the illness, and the MTC/MDF, along with allied resistance forces, have since honored him as a fallen comrade.
This loss comes as the conflict intensifies across Chin State, where the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) has been executing massive aerial campaigns and ground offensives in other key areas, such as Falam town and Surbung Airport.
The SSPC has faced setbacks and relied on frequent, indiscriminate air and drone attacks in the wider region, while major resistance groups continue to reject peace overtures from the junta.
Despite the complication, Chin Brotherhood forces are reportedly continuing operational activities in Tedim township. – Reporting by Daniel
