1 April 2026 – A military jet belonging to the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) conducted an aerial bombing raid on Zawngkawng village, located on the Falam-Taingen Road in Tedim township, Chin State, on Wednesday.
The attack, which reportedly involved the dropping of four bombs—two directly on the village and two on a nearby hill—resulted in significant destruction.
Video evidence documented by the Chinland Defence Force-Civic Defence Militia-Siyin (CDF-CDM-Siyin) confirms that at least 14 civilian residences were either destroyed or severely damaged by shrapnel from the indiscriminate shelling.
Sources suggest the jet may have been launched from Tada-U Airbase, a key military facility.
This incident marks a continuation of the SSPC military’s intensified offensive in Chin State. For the past five months, the junta’s forces have heavily relied on aerial attacks in their attempt to regain control of the strategic town of Falam and counter resistance movements, leading to a rising number of civilian casualties and displacement across the region. – Reporting by Daniel
