23 February 2026 – A Y-8 military transport aircraft delivered food rations and ammunition to SSPC forces stationed in Htilin town, Yaw region, Magway Region, on 22 February, according to local sources.
Initial reports from local sources, Yaw Alinn Tan, indicate that the aircraft operated between approximately 12:50 pm and 1:40 pm, remaining airborne for about 50 minutes and making 10 passes over the area. During the operation, nine parachute drops were conducted, including one initial test drop.
Following the test package, three packages were released in each of the subsequent eight rounds. In total, around 24 packages containing food supplies and ammunition were delivered by parachute from the Y-8 aircraft.
Earlier, on 10 January, military air operations were also reported in Htilin during a troop rotation. Two Mi-17 military transport helicopters landed in the town to rotate troops. The operation was supported by three jet fighter aircraft that reportedly took off from Magway Air Base.
During the landing, the jet fighters reportedly dropped three bombs on areas near Htilin town. The helicopters transported more than 60 military personnel, including newly recruited conscripts. – Reporting by Ben
